I have heard about this some time ago but didn't do any research until yesterday. It is basically a personality system based on emotional fixations. You can do the test and it will give you a score in each of the personality type numbers. You can click here for a comprehensive explanation of the enneagram and you can also do a test to discover your type. I've done a few tests and this one seems the best so far, but they also give different results, at the end, they say, it is best to understand the enneagram and figure out yourself which type you are.
This are my results:
Clearly a type 4, and an anti 8! I'll never be a leader, damn it!
Actually I agree with the description quite a lot. They say it is a very good tool to understand our own emotional fixations. Actually, all this -the fact that i'm doing the test, the fact that i'm blogging etc- it all falls into what a 4 would do!
This are my results:
Type 1 | Type 2 | Type 3 | Type 4 | Type 5 | Type 6 | Type 7 | Type 8 | Type 9 |
-2 | 1 | -4 | 7 | 3 | -2 | 1 | -7 | 3 |

In a similar thread I was hearing this radio program on 'on point radio' about this research they have done to understand what happiness is about. One of the striking things that they say is that our happiness is conditioned 50% by our genes, 10% by our experience and then there is this other 40% that depends on our present outlook, that is, on our power to change... it is good to think that it is our own hands to be able to feel happy or at least to change our emotions from negative to positive, positive thinking must work then...
I remember when somebody (maybe you remember) asked me if I was happy, and I said: yes, of course. And then she told me: then why are you not even smiling?
I guess I wasn't THAT happy, I mean, c'mon, a smile, only psychopaths and children smile! Another time I was in the underground and a girl looked at me and said: Smile, it can't be that bad... That was a classic.

Corinne: 7 with 2
Celine: 2 with 9
Vanessa: 3 with 7
Bud: 5 with 1
David: 4 with 9
Pauline: 1 with 2 and 7
Ciryl: 1 with 5 and 8
Chesa: 7 with 2 and 5
Joao: 8 with 1, 3 and 7
Drew: 7 with 4 and 5
Adriana: 9 with a 2 and 6
Teresa: 1 with a 4 and 7
Sergio: 8 with 1 and 5
Benoite N: 5 with 1 and 3
Tato: 3 with 7 and 4
enough!
didn't give it much thought so please don't take this seriously!
Def not to be taken seriously. The questions generalize too much. Everyone can answer both to a certain degree given varying contexts. For example, everyone has their own meaning of “success”. Lots of typically “successful” people are not content with what they have and still feel unsuccessful. Sometimes the option to answer “both strongly a and b” should have been given. By pronouncing our sometimes common behaviours specific to certain contexts, we get a skewed notion of being a “type” which is rather limited and pointless I think. Most importantly, our “personalities” are constantly moulded and anyone has the power to change. These were my results even though for a few questions I didn’t really know how to answer and didn’t agree with what was being asked.
Type 1: -2
Type 2: 4
Type 3: 0
Type 4: 4
Type 5: 3
Type 6: -7
Type 7: 4
Type 8: -4
Type 9: -2
I agree the test is a bit shit. There are other tests that are much better but are not available online. In fact, what is the norm is that a person has a type, and then a wing, which is a contiguous number, that is if you are a 5, then your wing is either a 6 or a 4, or both. It can happen though, that you have wings that are non contiguous, but it is not usual. How unusual I don't know, I am still learning about this stuff. But seeing the numbers I have given to people there are a 5 options:
-I really need to think a bit harder.
-My friends are very unusual.
-I dont know my friends very well.
-This systems is crap.
-And of course any combination of the above.
I copied and deleted this comment before because I just wanted to say that in spite of your -i'd say fair- criticism you are still a 4 with wing 5 that I predicted you to be... maybe the only one i got right actually...
